Chapter 5 - Materials and textures
Using materials and textures is a crucial component for any project, and
this chapter has all the information you need to manage and apply
materials or textures to objects. You will find two main editors in Blender
to handle materials: Material tab (Properties Editor) and Shader Editor.
The Shader Editor helps us using Nodes for materials.
The Nodes gives you a lot of flexibility and power to craft all kinds of
materials, using a visual workflow. Using materials based on multiple
texture maps, you will be ready to create realistic images using Blender.
Those have the name of PBR materials.
You will also learn how to use and find some high-quality PBR materials
for your projects.
Here is a list of what you will learn:
Apply materials to objects
Manage and rename materials
Protect materials from the purge process with a Fake user
Choose the best shader for a material
Use image textures
Control projection and tilling for textures
